Wound healing

Wound healing presents one of the greatest challenges for healthcare today, with post-surgical complications and chronic wound costs greater than those for asthma, dementia, or obesity.[1]

Helping the body to heal itself

For topical and in-body wounds, X-Pure® low endoxtoxin gelatins promote the natural healing process by supporting the recruitment, attachment and growth of endogenous cells in the damaged area[2]. The gelatin’s peptides form a nanofiber structure which mimics the extracellular matrix that favors cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation essential for skin regeneration [3].

Scaffold and bioactive delivery

Our gelatins and modified gelatins are optimally suited for wound dressing, providing a fluid absorbent physical barrier and moist scaffold for skin. Additionally, due to their ultra-low endotoxin levels, mechanical strength, and microstructure, X-Pure gelatins provide the ideal carrier for active molecules used in bioactive dressings to accelerate wound healing without risking a negative immune reaction. X-Pure GelDAT hydrogels in particular are ideal for complex wound dressings due to their ability to crosslink with tissues and their purity.
