Jos Vervoort

Managing Director 

Jos Vervoort has been Managing Director Rousselot since November 2015. He joined Darling Ingredients International (formerly known as VION Ingredients) in March 2006, where he held different positions, amongst which Managing Director of Rousselot EMEA, from January 2008 to November 2015. 

Ir. Tanja Vervust

Global Director
Rousselot Biomedical

Ir. Tanja Vervust holds a Master of Science in Bioscience Engineering. She has over 25 years of experience at Rousselot where she held different positions such as Process Development Manager, Production Manager, Quality Manager and since 2011 Global Quality Director for Rousselot. In January 2018, she became Global Director Rousselot Biomedical.

Dr. Elke De Clerck

Global Research & development director - Moderator

Dr. Elke De Clerck holds a PhD degree in Biotechnology. She has over 10 years of experience in several Research and Development roles in Food and Pharma business before joining Rousselot in 2010 where she served in a variety of roles. In January 2020, she became Global Research & Development Director. 

Dr. ir. Jan Schrooten

Co-Founder & CEO 

Dr. ir. Jan Schrooten is co-founder and CEO of Antleron, a young R&D company on a mission to enable personalized manufacturing in the domain of advanced therapies. Previously, he was senior research manager at KU Leuven (Belgium), responsible for the long-term management and technology transfer of biomaterials and tissue engineering research. Trained as a materials engineer, with an engineering PhD in biomaterials and a postgraduate in business administration, he has 25+ years of research experience in biomaterials and tissue engineering. He co-founded and managed for 8 years Prometheus, the KU Leuven R&D division of Skeletal Tissue Engineering. His work has been disseminated in 180+ peer reviewed international journal publications, chapters and conference proceedings. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the journals ‘Tissue Engineering, Parts A, B & C’ and ‘Advanced Biomaterials and Devices in Medicine’.

Jakub Lewicki


Jakub Lewicki, Customer Success Engineer at Allevi. He received his PhD degree in neuroscience from Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. Jakub has over 5 years of experience in bioprinting, biomaterials and stem cells together with a background in biotechnology engineering.

Cyril van Robais

Vice President Europe

Cyril van Robais is an international business developer with more than 15 years of experience. He is in charge of the european operations for Rheolution with two main markets in his portfolio : Life Science and Food industry.  Before joining Rheolution in 2018, he spent 8 years with Tecnal, a French manufacturer of cheese production equipment, as export manager in charge of export development and sales network organization. Cyril has a deep experience with the active European market of Agri-Food and has developed his expertise in the life Science research and industry field. Cyril is engineer graduated from Ecole supérieure d'Ingénieurs en Electrotechnique et Electronique ESTE ESIEE (Paris), he has finished his studies at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and speaks English, Italian, French and German. He lives in La Rochelle in France and has roots in french flanders and Belgium.

Dr. Jeff Daelman

Dr. Jeff Daelman graduated as a Bio-Engineer in Food Technology and Nutrition at Ghent University in 2009 and obtained his Doctoral Degree in Applied Biological Sciences at the same university in 2013 with an expertise in Food Safety and Predictive Microbiology. He then transferred to the pharmaceutical industry as a Project Engineer at Pifzer’s Puurs plant, tasked with process validation for parenteral products. In 2016 he joined Rousselot as a Product and Business Development Manager focusing on business development for Food products in EMEA and providing technical support to clients in the Middle-East, Africa and Central- & Eastern-Europe. Since October 2019, he has been Business Development Manager Innovations within Rousselot Biomedical.

Dr. Barbara Vanhoecke

Innovation Manager

Dr. Barbara Vanhoecke holds a PhD in Medical Sciences as well as a Master in biochemistry. She joined Rousselot in 2017 and is now Innovation Manager Biomedical working in particular on the X-Pure range. Barbara Vanhoecke has published two patent applications and is author/co-author of more than 40 scientific papers. 

Dr. ir. Charlotte Grootaert

Dr. ir. Charlotte Grootaert has obtained a Master’s degree in Bioscience Engineering - Chemistry at Ghent University in 2005, and a PhD in Applied Biological Sciences in 2011. Since then, she has been strongly involved in the start-up of a cell culture lab at the Department of Food Technology, Safety and Health at the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering. She has a special expertise in the development of complex cell (co)culture models for intestinal digestion and absorption of food bioactives with more than 50 international peer-reviewed publications in this domain. She is currently coordinating lab and research activities of more than 15 PhD and Master students in this field, and responsible for the development of innovative models with improved physiological relevance.

Sandor Noordermeer

Vice President Global Marketing & Sales

Sandor Noordermeer holds a Master’s degree in Business from the University of Tilburg. He has 25 years of commercial and general management experience in the food and pharmaceutical industry at companies such as Campina and Patheon. Before joining Rousselot, he was Executive Director & General Manager at Banner Pharmacaps Europe. He has been Vice President Global Marketing & Sales since May 2014.
