HOLDING THE TENSION BETWEEN NEW IDEAS AND PROVEN SCIENCE

“I’m Florencia Moreno Torres and I’m a health and nutrition Market Analyst at Rousselot. My role is to connect the dots between market, science, and consumer insights; helping to set the base for new value propositions, scientific, and consumer research. For our customers and markets, this kind of analysis means we can help them to stay ahead of the curve in terms of innovation and captivating final consumers attention, while always remaining faithful to facts and science.

The tension between new ideas and proven science

This balance between new ideas and proven science is one of the big fields of tension for manufacturers in today’s health and nutrition market. It plays out in my own career, too. I joined Rousselot two years ago, after getting a degree in nutritional sciences – Health Food Innovation Management – and having gained some years of experience in hands-on market research. To me the combination of a science background and market analysis means we can offer Rousselot’s customers the kind of insights they really need. For example, we can bridge the gap between what is being offered and what consumers really want, or develop more on-point marketing for scientifically sound products.

The next big thing

‘I am fascinated by market innovation as well as by nutrition & health science. Seeing how these two converge in new product developments, research, and business opportunities keeps me motivated and always looking forward to the next big thing. Combining the two involves creativity, a commercial mindset and sound analytical skills.’

Never a moment to get bored

‘One of the highlights is that I get to work with and learn from all teams; from R&D to business development, sales and marketing. And, my tasks cover a wide range of topics; from healthy aging and mobility to sports nutrition, beauty, and many other specialized nutrition topics. So… never a moment to get bored!”
